Be careful doing business with Alpha Management. Make sure you read the fine print on all documents before signing. I left the house in moderate condition and followed the ridiculous cleaning list. I did not receive my $2000 security deposit back and they charged me an extra $250. All because I didn’t wipe down walls and trim pieces with lemon scented cleaner. Do yourself a favor and find a different rental property. Clearly Alpha Management likes taking students money to invest in their renovations. Thanks for reading.

I am leaving this here as a warning to anyone thinking of doing business with this awful company. My fiancee and I saw an apartment they managed and were told after filling out an application we were approved. We did not state whether we intended to move in because we were not exactly sure where we were going and where we needed to move. When we thought we were sure we decided to send in a deposit they require to hold the apartment. The very same day we realized we shouldn't have sent it because we were having doubts as to if we wanted to accept the apartment. We called their office immediately and said we jumped the gun on sending the deposit and they should not view it as intent to move in. The lady on the other end sounded annoyed and irritable and said to let her know by tomorrow if we definitely wanted it or not. It is very hard to get a hold of them. They did not once return our calls when they said they would. Finally we got somebody on the phone after a couple of days of trying and they said our letter with the money order had not been received yet but they would return it when it did. We allowed for about a week to elapse and called again and spoke with a man who said it had arrived and he found it on his desk and would send it back. We were assured it would not be opened. About 3 weeks later we received a letter explaining since we changed our minds they would keep 200 dollars of this money. I was aware of this agreement on the application however it would only be valid if intent to move in was established and it clearly was not. They claimed receiving the money order was intent to move but when we called them the same day they were aware it was sent by mistake. It has been another month now and I just spoke with a woman who I was told was the owner. She claimed again receiving the check she was well aware was sent by mistake was intent to move. When I tried to make my argument she hung up on me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was a bad connection, something she later blamed it on but I heard noises like she took the phone off the receiver and sat it on her desk to stop it from ringing. She was most likely screening my calls and waiting for me to stop calling them. When she finally answered again she said she was keeping our money and to speak to our attorney if we wanted to speak to anyone about it anymore and hung up on me again. I called again and a man answered who said the lady I had already talked with was the owner. He then hung up on me as well. I know it would cost more than we can afford and would easily not make it worth filing legal action against them for 200 dollars but we are young and just starting out. We just both got our own apartment and are getting married. It is not right for them to keep the money. If anyone is thinking of working with them take this as a friendly warning, avoid them and go elsewhere.

I heard of them thru my younger brother. At first I was concerned because I'd never heard of them and he stated he was having issues with them. (He's got mental illnesses and doesn't always understand what's going on) However, they pleasantly surprised me. They were very attentive and willing to help me understand the full situation. Alpha is one of the few places willing to work with people who are going thru a rough time and truly try to find a way to make it all work. Anytime we had a question or concern they were on it right away. And theft treated us with respect, never taking advantage of my brother because of his disorders. Unfortunately my brother had to move out but I have another brother we're gonna try and get into one of their buildings. Thank you Pat and everyone at APM.
