ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY EVER! I am living at one of Afton properties in NJ. The treatment my family and I have received is downright awful. I lived with mold inside and outside the apartment for 4 years due to a pipe bursting. I made several calls and request to get it fixed and received ZERO communication! Due to the mold my son was hospitalized for 3 days due respiratory issues.
We also have built up lint front the dryer that has not been cleaned out for some time. It’s scary because this is how fires start!
I have made several calls and get ZERO responses back.

Maintenance

I've been with Afton Properties for a year now and it has been a fantastic experience since day one. I am given all the resources I need to maintain our site properly and feel that ownership honestly cares about all of their employees. I would highly recommend Afton to anyone who was interested in working for one of our properties.

I have had no washer for almost 2 months now and they just tell us that we are responsible for cleaning their machine out once a week but even after cleaning it, it still leaves spots on our clothes. We also have had our car wrongfully towed and they still are “talking with the owner about a refund” and it happened in January. They never answer the phone or respond to you, and take forever for an issue to be taken care of. Please do not live for Afton Properties, they are awful.

It took me writing on a check to the landlord, whom I never met, for anything to get done in this apartment building. I literally had to write on the memo that the elevator needed to be fixed for the elevator to be fixed, then the manager got mad at me for it because then the manager had to actually do something. I complained to the management company several times with no results. I wrote on the theck to fix the front door... and that's when the front door got fixed, not before then.

They also fired the effectual manager they hired probably because they didn't want her to fix the building, though she was also unnecessarily nosy too.

The managers they've hired have been ineffectual. I've asked them to fix the package thefts and they said it's not their problem. They won't install cameras, etc to try to find out who is stealing the packages.

People had to lobby huge complaints to get anything done in the building, and uniting the tenants against the manager. Like posting notices to fix the hot water situation, etc.
