I just moved into this community two days ago because of my husband's fellowship at Mayo Clinic. Katherine has been really helpful, responding promptly and thoroughly to several of my emails. I really appreciate her support, and I believe I will have a wonderful experience here.

This has been one of the most tumultuous living experiences we've ever experienced. They do not take care of their private roads, they force major renovations while still occupying the space, had greedily raised the rent hundreds of dollars over a couple years, have high staff turnover, and sadly more.

Pros: Great fishing spots, awesome and accessible walking trail, family & LGBT friendly environment, pet friendly, awesome for Mayo employees..

Avoid if possible.

My family resided at Avalon Cove for one year, during which we spent limited time in our townhouse. This review is not about the living conditions but rather the dishonest, conniving, and unprofessional conduct of the management.

Before moving to Avalon Cove, I read reviews indicating the management’s reputation for retaining security deposits on frivolous grounds. Consequently, we made every effort to maintain the property meticulously. Several weeks before our departure, I contacted management to schedule a walkthrough inspection to identify any issues that might incur charges. Despite multiple follow-up attempts, we did not receive a response from management.

Eventually, the day before our move-out, management sent someone to inspect the property. I conducted a thorough walkthrough with the inspector and inquired about any potential damages. The inspector assured me that “everything looked great,” except for two light bulbs that needed replacement, which I promptly replaced.

A week later, I received an email stating that my $1,600 security deposit had been confiscated and that I was being billed over $1,000 for repainting. Shocked but aware of their reputation, I contacted management and was informed that paint damage necessitated a complete repainting of the townhouse. They falsely claimed that these flaws had been pointed out during the inspection, which is a blatant lie and part of their dishonest scheme.

Avalon Cove experiences high turnover as many residents are trainees at Mayo Clinic who typically spend only a few years in Rochester. This transient population makes the management’s dubious practices highly profitable. I strongly advise against renting at Avalon Cove if you expect to deal with honest and professional management.

Jessie has a great professional demeanor and outstanding personality. I have been here for 3 years. Eric, is second to none. Heads up the maintenance area.

They are a great assets to the property.

Woodridge on second apartment is good but no Air condition in my room, but have 2 ACs in other room as well as in the living room area.. Its somewhat uncomfortable in this summer time. When I informed reception, they asked to buy a mobile AC unit.

We’ve had an amazing experience so far. Donnette and Elizabeth have been so kind and helpful. Before I moved in I had issues with signing up for a utility and Donnette helped me through it and was kind and patient through it all. Check in went super smooth with Elizabeth. She was welcoming and kind. I was amazed at how fresh and clean our new townhouse is. We came prepared to clean and there was no need. We are confident this new home will be a wonderful place to begin our next chapter. Thank you!

We recently move into Avalon Cove Townhomes and the staff was extremely nice & helpful. Katherine was our point of contact at the compound management. She gave us a tour to multiple units, was promptly responding to our emails, even worked with us to make sure that our application is approved after resolving an issue related to my rental history. The unit had few imperfections, but when I mentioned this to the management they sent someone to look at it within 1 day. It is really convenient place to commute to Mayo & downtown Rochester. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Highly Recommended. Thank you Katherine for all your help !!
