A senior family member of mine has lived here for numerous years. It has never been a great place to live in my opinion based on what I’ve observed about the upkeep of grounds, lack of or inadequate maintenance response to repair requests, general state of building, and high price of rent for substandard living conditions.

Through the years, it has steadily declined. The stairs are crumbling in places (has been this way since they moved in) and the trash bins are overflowing spilling trash on the ground. We are still in a pandemic and to see such unsanitary conditions is very unsettling. This attracts rodents and pests which make their way into the apartments, leaving the residents to deal with the aftermath. When maintenance and management are called, they are not helpful and act as though you are bothering them. Very unprofessional!!

The rent is too high for this type of response and lack of concern for the health and safety of residents. It is also terrible for the environment, but this doesn’t seem to concern management either. Very irresponsible, uncaring, and unkind mindset and behavior.

Other issues: lack of lines for parking spaces creates a situation where residents park any way they want. Leaving big gaps between cars that are not large enough to accommodate a car. As a result, there are usually insufficient parking spaces. My senior relative who has difficulty walking is forced to park far from the apartment. There are also potholes, uneven surfaces, loose concrete and asphalt scattered throughout the parking lot, as well as poor lighting. This all creates potential fall conditions. They have asked repeatedly for a handicapped space to be put in, but the request for personal safety of the resident was not met. I’m sure if they fall management won’t bat an eye and say that they should have been more cautious. Very disturbing.

The walls are thin like other apartments, but these buildings are aging and in a state of disrepair so it is far worse. There are also tons of fees that they tack on to your rent, so be sure to ask about them so you can budget accordingly. The management was not transparent about this when the lease was signed. It was disclosed later and through the years additional fees have been added. They also charge you a fee for the pool regardless if you use it or not. Ridiculous!

I DO NOT recommend this place at all if you value your health, safety, and want value for your hard earned money, and want peace of mind.

Check out North Village Apartments in North Brunswick instead. There are washers and dryers in the unit, rooms are spacious, grounds are maintained hygienically, maintenance responds appropriately and promptly, they allow pets for a fee, there are lines in the parking lot, trash bins are emptied frequently, and they don’t charge additional fees for things that should be included in the rent. The pool fee is only charged here if you use the pool.

I really like the location and it's proximity to various things such as train station, mall, hospital etc. I am lucky enough to have a nice neighbor below and in general. As it relates to the property and policy, I personally would love the option of not paying the pool fees at all as I've never used and never will (heard it's well kept but never been). Lawns are well kept except for someone who feeds WAY too much cats on paper plates making that a bit of an eye soar. Garbage/trash area well kept. Had a parking issue once and it was quickly resolved ( thanks Betty, Veronica and Maria) other than that you/visitors can find parking which is a huge plus for. I rarely ever called maintenance however if and when I my issue is resolved in a timely manner more so because I want someone at home while any work is done (thanks Mike). There's flooding from the main road whenever it rains heavily since the last year or so hence having to move my car (just by my building). Rent could be a lower based on what's given. With that said, I could see myself living here for a few more years and upgrading apartment(depending on cost & what's offered). I would recommend the this location

I have lived here for about ten years now and I always mark this as a very special place because of it’s location. One is that it is very close to Metropark station as I often go to New York on my own time whenever so this is a very convenient place for me and my family. It is also near by Menlo Park mall and other shopping mall in it as well as Target store. We may move to buy our own house anytime soon, but my ten year experience here and possibly counting (until we find our own house) has its ups and downs. It is affordable, but the cost of rent keeps rising so it really depends on what you’re looking at.

My only downside is that Greenfield Gardens really needs to renovate or update the property as it gets old and the area (even outside) can feel messy. 😣

Very nice management, very professional kind and patient. They keep the grounds very nice and they attend to the needs of the tenant I have found in my own personal case. If you call them, they are almost immediately there to repair or replace Whatever the problem is…I have been here 15 years and I’m very happy..Also I’m very grateful this far for very nice considerate neighbors, not noisy at all

My son and I moved here exactly a month ago and we both LOVED IT from the day 1. We love the layout of the apartment with the huge living room, bedroom, the kitchen with many cabinets and the oven in the wall, and the big, NEW, and very clean bathroom with the closet. The floor is wooden and shiny. BIG PLUS are 2 huge walk-in closets and parking spaces (always available) in the front of our windows. I was very happy to see the venetian blinds already installed in the windows (it saved so much time to do that) and wall air conditioner. The apartment is clean and sunny and outside is well-kept and quiet. The lights in the hallways are on the whole night. The location is SUPER – you can’t ask for better location. 5 minutes by car to everything you need – stores, the mall, restaurants, park, train station, and even the hospital. The people who work here are very nice, friendly and very helpful. Any problem I had was immediately solved by superintendent. The only thing I don’t like (but there is nothing anybody can do about it) is the fact that I can hear every walking step of people living upstairs. But besides “thin” walls/ceiling the place is PERFECT to live.

I moved into Greenfield Gardens this summer and it is my first time living away from home. I have to say, I love pretty much everything about it.

The location is great - not even five minutes from Menlo Park Mall, which has a movie theater and Target nearby. Very close to Route 1 and the Parkway too (but not close enough that you hear the noise from within the apartment complex).

Maintenance attends to repairs very quickly and any problem we have had was fixed usually the same or next day.

Parking is wonderful because you don't have to pay extra and it's first come first serve. Unless you're getting in very late there's usually a spot in front of your apartment and even if not, the whole complex is very walkable.

Rent payments are easy to make online and the laundry room was updated just before I moved in with new washers and dryers along with an easy refill card system. It's quite easy to get laundry done at an off-time and have hardly any one else using the machines (I've never had a situation where I went and no machines were open).

All in all I would definitely recommend checking out Greenfield Gardens. It's a nice community and I hope to be here for years to come!
