Not a good experience with Camille Berry at RealtySouth Homewood. No judgement here just facts sharing. I was trying to buy a condo listed by her. The scheduled showing got postponed. I decided to make an offer before I got chance to see it. My offer was accepted with inspection contingency. After we inspected the condo, we found some information on her listing is not true. It is listed 529 SF. However, tax record, my own measurement and the listing of the unit right below all show 484 SF. All appliances were made more than 4 year ago (March 2017) but her listing claims they are new. We can't tell the age of the flooring and fixtures but they are definitely not new as the listing claims. My offer was solely based on her listing description. Since I am not satisfied with inspection result, I decided to back out from my original offer. After comparing with other units sold recently with same SF, I reduced my offer to match the listing price, which is still much higher than the other comparables. However, my offer was rejected and she blamed me "unprofessional and unethical". After that, she made a little update on her listing, changed the year of HVAC from 2021 to 2020 and removed "fresh paint", but nothing else. It is still showing 529 SF and new appliances, new flooring, new fixtures. She needs to stop listing false information. Buyers, make sure to verify everything before making an offer. Lesson learned.
