I have family that has lived at Lafayette Square for 8+ years and I have NEVER had an issue with the guard at the gate until today. This new older male guard was very rude and disrespectful. I have never had to use my mother’s gate code to get in because someone is always in the guard stand. So, today when I brought my daughter to see my mom for her birthday I stopped and gave the apartment number, my moms last name, and my last name only to be met with him rudely asking what the code was. When I told him I didn’t know because I never needed it and that what he’s there for he became irrational and irate. Lafayette Square if you are going to require codes then get rid of this guard because there is no need for him.

Sure you could say it’s a great place to live until you have both of your vehicle stolen within five days of each other. We were supposed to feel safe here living in a gated community but that all goes out the window when you’ve had 2 vehicles stolen. It also doesn’t make you feel better when nobody seems to care that your vehicle’s are stolen. All of these cameras around here but nobody seems to know what happened to both our cars. Here’s a picture of where both our cars were stolen from. Big thanks to the people in the office who did nothing to help us.

Honestly, a terrible place with terrible service, you need an air conditioning filter and they never respond, putting the request as "fulfilled", they notify pest control but they never come, and the rats or squirrels are on the roof without letting us sleep, then they enter the houses out of nowhere without prior notice, I must say that I was in the shower and no one warned me, the security is horrible, many non-residents come in and it's not even safe to leave your car outside your own house, the neighbors do not pick up their animals' stool and the administration people are horrible, maybe even more with foreigners who have a hard time in English, I give it 1 star only because there are no 0. The administration does not provide good service and does not cover your needs regarding air conditioning or pests, but when you take a day to pay they give you a fine, this place is horrible, with or without family I do not recommend this place.

I have been living here for 2 years now and although I’m thankful for a place to stay, I would not recommend this place to anyone. The apartments are outdated and have pest issues. We pay monthly for pest control yet they show up every 3/6 months? My washer went out and it took months for them to fix, but they still charged me for the amenity that I could not use. The trash compactor is disgusting and everyone leaves trash in the road. People cars have been broken into and in the summer time the pool gets filled with non residents and there was even a couple shootings. I would not recommend with people with kids or anyone period. The exterior looks decent but do not fall for it.

One of the worst apartment complexes in mobile and if not the worst management team in town. Very unsafe a lot of shootings and robberies, there’s always parties that ends up with shootings on the pool, there’s almost an eviction every week, very old buildings and apartments thats never been renovated before , trash is literally everywhere even the dumpster will always have piles of trash outside of the dumpster, they charge you for pest control but they dont ever come , when you call for maintenance just be ready to have them bust into your apartment anytime without any respect to the residents, they dont have any cameras around the place to stop thieves from breaking into cars. On top of that the management team always has this attitude like you’re staying there for free and by the way you can literally punch in any code on the gate keypad and it will open. Dont ever consider this place if you have a family.

I have known Mrs. Michelle since I arrived in this country (1995) and she has always had the same attitude for responsibility and integrity for the well-being of this complex. Also the staff and maintenance are great. I have been living in apartments for 28 years and I always return to LAFAYETTE SQUARE APTS because they make you feel at home. family.

I’ve been calling for months to get an answer on the mosquito breeding pond aka the pool to be looked at. Just keep getting told there is a drainage issue and they’re “waiting on a contractor”

Oh and also why doesnt this place get into the 21st century and have fiber internet installed. Got another BS excuse for that one too! Weeks after posting this pool is still green and nothing has been done. They think throwing some bleach in it every 2 weeks will appease the bad review.....

This place will pressure wash and repave the entrance going in to portray that it’s a nice place to live. But the truth is this place is ratchet and outdated. They will do anything to make the exterior looking grand but the fact is this place is rundown, outdated. Our rent money goes to them making their office looks nice but they don’t care about their residents. Why not repave the whole complex instead of restripe and pave the entrance. Do more as a whole. Do more for your residents. Do more for the community. We live in the center of the city, center of it all. Remodel your complex inside out. This place has a lot of potential but management is worried about the wrong things and NOT their residents.
