Unico properties has enough money to buy one of Portland's largest buildings (Montgomery Park) yet fired the lunch time piano players. The pianists are wonderful! Oh and of course they got rid of the grand piano! Such little extra did it cost to have these guys around. It was unnecessary and shows how cheap Unico is despite being obviously loaded. I bet the owners the type (guy or gal), if married has an outdated mansion and refuses to buy their significant other a new car or remodel. So far not impressed with this new ownership.

BRING BACK THE PIANIST! Stop pushing musicians out! We are attempting to pursue our passions and make a little bit of money to support ourselves. Music and all art forms keep us alive. Even if you're only thinking of yourselves then it'll help the employees be more motivated to get back to work after a relaxing break with soothing tunes.

No piano player at lunchtime at Montgomery Park anymore? I guess that's the price you pay for capitalist corporate buyouts.

Wow! Update:
So I noticed that several of the nonprofits that were previously in the building have recently vacated. Apparently when the Montgomery Park building was owned by the Naito co., they were given discounted rates for rent. After Unico bought the building, they gave all of the the nonprofits the boot. I'm not a doctor but that sounds like evil corporation behavior to me. What an awful company, I'm ashamed that they are based here in Portland.

I'm not a man of elaborate tastes. Sometimes I'm even content eating a cup of noddles without water. However, since the landlords removed the pianists and grand piano, it's evident that the property owners are cutting corners instead of "contributing to the vitality of this community's character". And their pretzels suck.

Rude employees that only care about the bottom line: profiting at everyone else's expense. They even fired the piano player! Terrible.
