Horrible Experience with Atlantic Management - Unresolved Mice Infestation and Terrible Customer Service
I would rate Atlantic Management zero stars if I could. My experience living in the apartment on Palisades Avenue in Cliffside Park was nothing short of awful. I had to move out within three months due to a severe mice infestation. I have two young children under the age of two, and the mice destroyed my brand-new furniture and belongings. They chewed up backpacks, created holes in my laundry bags, and left mouse droppings on my kitchen counters and even inside my pots.
I immediately reported the issue to Atlantic Management, but their response was dismissive. They insisted there were no mice in the building and claimed no one else had complained, even though the entire building was infested and many tenants had given up reporting the issue due to the lack of action. Some even resorted to getting cats to deal with the problem. I on my own caught 6 mice in my apartment.
What was even more frustrating was how the company handled the termination of my lease. They demanded that I vacate the apartment within two days in order to receive my security deposit and rent back—completely unreasonable, especially with two small children and no time to find a new place to live. Not only was I put under extreme stress, but I was also left with all my belongings ruined in storage because I had no time to make alternative arrangements. There was no apology or empathy from anyone at Atlantic Management.
Meir and Jonna, who I interacted with, have terrible customer service skills and no real problem-solving ability. The super was sent to patch up holes in the apartment, but it was clear they were giving him instructions over the phone on how to do so—how can they assess the situation properly this way if not there to physically see where the holes are in the apartment?
This building needs to be inspected and shut down until the mice infestation is completely resolved. Atlantic Management needs to take responsibility for the neglect and lack of professionalism, and hire actual experts to address the issue. I’m left struggling as a single mother with two young children, all because of the dishonesty and lack of action from this company. Also instead of cleaning every part of the apartment for new tenants I received the oven with mice poop from years and years piled up that I had to clean. I left the oven brand new and clean as well as all the dust and dirt stuck inside the heat, all little things I didn’t notice before renting the apartment. Just disgusting,

Sara at Atlantic Management has been a true gift for our small building in Jersey City. In one year alone she managed the replacement of a leaking roof, repair of water damage from the roof leak, repainting all of the hallways in our building, fixing a very annoying fire alarm system that had been going off randomly for years, replacing & upgrading our door buzzer system with a new system that enables us to buzz in cat sitters and delivery people through our cell phones (which is an incredible feature for those of us who travel). We are Incredibly lucky and EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to be managed by Atlantic Management especially as a smaller building with only 8 units. They are the best!

I'm currently a board member of a Hudson County 39 unit building which recently selected Atlantic as our new Management Company. Our 2 previous management companies were unhelpful and actually took advantage of us in multiple way. In the short time Atlantic Mangement and Daniella have taken over our building its a completely different experience. Highly Highly recommend speaking to them if you're in search of a management company. Thank You Atlantic!!!

when our condo association in downtown jersey city was looking for a new management company last year, someone recommended Atlantic and we have been extremely happy with the transition and their thorough management!! their staff is wonderful and a pleasure to deal with! they have saved our association a lot of money, we should have switched to their company years ago! highly recommended!!

Stay away. This management has teamed up with Jasco management, to take over the others properties. They play favorites with the board, and non board members. Next to no financial information. Projects for building, are done behind owners back. Racked up fines, cleaned out bank accounts. Daniella can be very rude, and over stepping out by laws, meetings held with no supporting information. Attempted to revise the by laws herself. She has no license. Not present when needed. Building contractors leave garbage overflowing, attracting mice. Front of the property has feces. Unknown tenants over occupying apts, illegally. Stay far away.
A startling amount of problems every week. Never ends. Can not live in peace, with this management company involved. Do not hire them.

Since Atlantic assumed management of our condo building, there have been improvements in both general maintenance and building renovations. They're very responsive and proactive when there are issues and also aggressive in pursuing payment for accounts that are in arrears. Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of renting an apartment in Montclair NJ from Atlantic Management for one year. This company is very tenant friendly and is the best that I have done business with. Our property manager, Larry, was always polite and professional when discussing matters. His staff was informative and considerate throughout. Although I won’t be currently renewing the lease, if I am looking to rent in the future, I will definitely look through Atlantic Management. I enjoyed my stay in this lovely apartment.

I inherited a beautiful apartment in West New York, NJ with an amazing view of the NYC skyline about 3 years ago now, but I live in Chicago and so I needed someone to help me manage it. Besides living far away I don't have much knowledge on rentals, tenants or anything related to property management. I decided to use the building’s management company since they had been so nice during the transition of the apartment to my name. I never have any problems with my tenants, Kathy and Lillian are always so nice and helpful and through email Kathy keeps me informed on the happenings of the building. Although I can’t attend the building association meetings I always get the minutes and they always have time to talk to me if I have any questions. I am honestly overjoyed with all that they do. Keep up the good work!
