I would strongly discretion against working with TLC to rent or lease a property. I have had many issues with them in regards to communication and them not processing funds in a timely manner. You may experience issues with getting in touch to schedule visits as this is outsourced, then when the visit is scheduled they may or may not show up after which you will have issues being reimbursed or they may avoid returning your calls. I had to physically show up to their office to have them process my refund which they waited over 20 days to process. Had I not appeared in person I may never have received it.

First to start off when I first moved in, I was told about the pet policy that I had to have my proper documents from my doctor. Property management told me she would not read my documents because she was bit by a Chihuahua and a building that that was not our building She stated that she was not a fan of dogs Hi elaborated on different occasions that I had the proper paperwork and she kept rejecting it so she gets fired . Four months ago by the next property manager states that I don’t have a lease anymore for not complying about my dog which I applied and sent it into Corporate but I have a email that states different what’s that property my manager got fired too then they hired a new property manager that tells me I have to bring in all my documents, Social Security cards, birth certificate, cards, etc. have me redo my lease with my dog on it. what states the printer is messed up and he will have to give you my lease that following Friday, which she did not come at work if coming to find out he was fired that Monday so now this is the third property manager that we didn’t have within the last year The property manager tell me that I don’t have a lease or anything in the system and tell me that I owe 20 something thousand dollars . no, I have never had agreement on the amount of money for lease because when I moved in, I was not working in my rent was zero this company is horrible. You get no help at all. It takes them much to reply back to any type of a matter, the front desk is never open, there is a major security breach within the office giving your Social Security number is like giving to 15 people besides me paying for over two $3000 worth of windows repairs because they will not pay for any security that will travel in the parking lot. Not being for real for Security that has been all type of females that got shoot and that ne shooting n outside

The peaple i worked with was crazy ..and the mangers dont beleave in buying supplys to keep the proporty clean and up to city codes...and dont beleave that its city law to update all smoke alarms ...and evey unit has a gas stove..so its clear thy dont care alot anyones life ..and the basment,s are full of bugs ..i had to get the hell out of that property!!! The propertys maitenance manager wood come in smelling like like she was just down the street,.at the bar ! .Its not the kind of place i wood like to be at ! ..and the propertys ASST Manger ..just have old and out dated ways ! and warning !!! You cant park on the same block of 6104 s woodlawn...and thats the propery im talking about...Beware !

Scheduled an in person apartment tour this afternoon. Arrived outside the apartment on time and waited in the freezing weather for half an hour. No one from the management showed up. Called customer service 3 times, they could not even provide an estimated wait time. They provided the phone number for on-site management, called 3 times and nobody answered the call.

It's been some time since I left my last review which was a one star. Things with this property have been trying, but the new management at least tries and tries to keep up with the pest control, but you can only do so much when your neighbors aren't doing their due diligence.

My experience has improved so I figured I'd update the review to reflect it. It's been a learning experience for sure. My bike being stolen was a building security thing I'm not sure how that improved, so I'm still a little cautious, but I would definitely advise to practice extra precaution with storing your bike or scooter in any bike room regardless of if it's a locked room or not.

Overall my experience became better as the management changed.

I live at Arbors of Glen Ellyn. Elevators in multiple buildings, including mine, have been out for about a year now. We have been personally told by management that they have no plans to fix the elevator, nor do they know if it will ever get fixed. Of course this is ridiculous. I have called corporate and still haven't gotten a phone call back, this was about a month ago.

I would put ZERO stars if I could. DO NOT RENT from this place, ever. The price that is on their website is NOT the price you will pay. If you contact them and check their site the price seems fine, you go in and the price has changed. So say you tell them you wanna move in on Oct 1, they will tell you they have an apartment available. You go in and then they tell you the price is actually 1315$ per month. Why? Well that’s because they change their rental rate DAILY. so even though you told them the date they charge you for “loss” because even if you apply on Sept 15th they don’t hold apartments. So if I wanna move in on Oct I have to wait until Sept 30th to apply to get the rate on their site. This place is scammy, and predatory. Do not, I repeat DO NOT rent from TLC properties, or the flamingo apartments in Hyde park. They know it’s a scam, and they will talk in circle about how it’s a “loss” to have an apartment sit empty for one day, and if it sits empty they charge YOU that fee. So instead of the “cost of business where you apply, pay fees, and then set your date, because really who is ready to move in 40 minutes after they hit “apply”. This is a sleazy way to do business. Also, you MUST pay 153$ for their utilities package, but it doesn’t cover internet, so, 1247$ apartment list price changes to 1450$ because you HAVE to pay for their utilities package, and your own internet. Beware, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. DONT RENT FROM THIS PLACE OR ANY TLC PROPERTIES.

Good Day
I am a resident of Scholars Corner. When I moved into my apartment in Feb. the grate in the bathroom was improperly covered with cardboard silver tape. The maintenance man never came back to replace it. Also for the last six wks, the building has not been secured due to persons unknown living in the building who admit others into the building by opening access doors in the evening. Security issues. Have not lived here in almost a year and now I get calls from the office at insane hours in the middle of the night.
