Once you make the decision to sell your home, it can be very difficult to decide how to sell it. Selling it on your own might save you some money, but oh the headaches. A good realtor can make the process so much easier. How do you find the realtor that is right for you? Ask family and friends for recommendations and research on line. Most important, interview those realtors. I could go into a lengthy story at this point, but it is more important that I tell you about the success I had finding the right realtor for me.
Patrick West didn’t arrive with a prepared presentation. He arrived with his laptop and himself. He sat with me to show me exactly how he would sell my house if it was his. We went through comparisons of houses that had recently sold that were as close to mine as possible. His next statement was “Let’s sell our home for the highest price possible.” That is what we did. We were a team. Patrick made some excellent suggestions and would explain why he recommended them. He always took the time to answer my questions.
Within about 15 hours after my house went on the market, I had a great offer. After reviewing the contract, I had several questions and a minor concern. Patrick answered all my questions and put my mind at rest with the concern. He followed up with the buyer’s realtor to make sure everything went smoothly. We closed on the house 36 days later. This realty group is the only group I would ever go to when it comes to buying or selling a home. I stopped in one of their offices as a novice first-time home buyer who knew NOTHING about buying a home. I was terrified of the entire process and had NO idea what to do or say... Pam B was so helpful, she walked me through the process of what happens, and gave me GREAT advice about how to whittle down what we wanted in our first home. It’s a scary process!! Even though I wasn’t ready to buy and just wanted to educate myself, she helped me understand what kind of things to look for, and what the process might look like. She sent me emails about homes in the area in our range that had the amenities room desired, and she never made me feel uncomfortable.

We ended up ‘pausing’ our home search to take care of some family matters, and we didn’t look again for a while, and used a family member as our realtor until there were some health conflicts that prevented them from continuing to help— but she referred us to “a great brokerage in town that knows their stuff”. Turns out that it was New Heritage, again! I was so scared to start the process over again with someone I didn’t know, but I could not possibly feel more welcome when we went to their office! Everyone there treats you like family from the second you walk in the door. Our realtor was out when we stopped in, but we were helped out Very kindly, and contacted the second she was free.

These people really take the time to find out both what you want, and what you NEED. They help you prioritize what is important, but also keep you grounded when it comes to realistic expectations. It is SO scary buying a house for the first time, and we had a nightmare experience with our lender— but our realtor took care of everything, and offered so much comfort, guidance, and just the knowledge that comes from years of experience.... They were our rocks in the storm, and we are now very blessed to call our realtor a friend!! We know exactly who to refer people to when they are looking for their new home— these people are the real deal, and they get the job DONE!
