I worked with Tulare County Permit Center to get a permit for my mountain lodge. The people there were very knowledgeable and very helpful. They really care about the best interests of the home owner and they look out for us as well. I'm very happy to know that the county is managed by very competent, helpful, and caring individuals. My house is in construction now, and I'm very thankful that Tulare reviewed my plans and gave me really good recommendations that helped me save money and time. Dennis L., Hector, Alicin, Kevin and the group are all the best of the best. You can rest assured that you're in good, fair honest hands.

That said, you need to do your part for them to help you. The more info you have on your drawings the more they can suggest things that may improve your situation. The cleaner and legible your drawings are the less people will be upset with having to read them.

The clerk that helped us, Vanessa, was fast, professional & really knew her stuff. In & out in 5 minutes or less. Vanessa is a real asset to the RMA PERMIT DIVISION.

DO NOT call and ask a question...because they just pass the buck. They are quick to just transfer you. Call backs can take DAYS.
Website is outdated... not very good... not helpful at all.
They seriously need to take the time and get all the questions they answer over the counter....to a list they can add to the website. Most are quick answers.

Take the time and take the drive out there....and go in...it is helpfull.
