Limited hours be sure to look it up. Especially the pond - which is really cool. Its a 1 mile hike there. So smaller kids could be tough. Sandy walk. Never see any snakes or wildlife. But very cool oasis!!!! The trailhead parking lot always seems closed so you have to park on the highway...which is fine.

Don’t expect to hike down to the fault line and creek here. Lake access is closed during the week and might be open on weekends if they have the staffing. Host was informative and courteous, but it seems they could open up access more. Parking is only along the road.

Beautiful oasis in midst of a desert. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Has some hikes around. Parking on side of the road. Some of the trees are said to be nearly 100 years old. There is a small information area assisted by a person who stays at the location with his RV; quite an experience for him!

Oasis in the desert! Unfortunately parking lot closed so parking is along roadway. Upon arrival was informed of storm damage that wrecked havoc on the preserve wrecking most of the boardwalk and some surrounding area there. Always awesome to stand under these giant palms and enjoy sitting. Some short trails to enjoy. One is the slight hill to overlook the area. The one to the pond was closed unfortunately. Volunteers there to tell you of the history and I even tried the tiny fruit which had a pit inside but tasted similar to a date. Fun relaxing place!

Beautiful little oasis in the middle of the desert. There are knowledgeable guides to tell you about the history and the geological wonders of the place. It's well worth the visit, the admission is free. If there's a sign that the parking lot is closed, you can park on the side of the road.

Wow. What an awesome excursion! The ecological gradients were so cool to see the transition from oasis ponds and palms to sage to desert. Seeing fish at the oasis was so cool. Knowledgeable staff member too and standing right on the fault. Plus super close to Palm Springs or Indio

This place is amazing. It's like a little palm tree forest. Unfortunately the parking lot is closed but you can park on the side of the road and just walk in. The boardwalk is also closed due to storm damage. Go up on the hill for a great view of the valley. It's an easy 5 minute hike.
