Our family stayed at the resort and had a simply great experience. The location is very good both for travel to the National Park but also local amenities, but most of all because it is in a simply great spot. The river runs through the bottom of the garden and it is perfect for calling off and kids loved swimming around. The rooms we had were great, spacious, clean and very comfortable beds - the best nights sleep i have had in a long time! Best of all was the food, we are not vegans - but i was happy to try.....and that was a great decision, everything we had was wonderful. Breakfast was a great selection of savoury and sweet, and it led us to book dinner at the resort and the chef did us proud with 3 excellent courses of food fit for any Michelin restaurant. Had a great time, would certainly come again!

There just isn’t any easy way to get to, or in and out of Sequoia and King’s Canyon National Park. So, when it came time to pick a place to stay, we wanted one with some convenience, some solitude, and some opportunity to do just a little nothing. We had conquered Half Dome in Yosemite, and were looking to step down the intensity of our adventures in Sequoia, while still affording us ample opportunity to hike and take in nature’s bounty. ||Kaweah Chakra did not disappoint! A lovely location in the quaint and rustic town of Three Rivers, set on the edge of a river supplied by the melting snow, even in September! We were fortunate to have experienced a good year for the waterfalls in Yosemite, Sequoia, and the Kaweah River. ||We took the option to have dinner at Kaweah Chakra the night we arrived, and this set the tone for our 3 days there. Kiana, the caretaker and chef, was a pure delight, and prepared for us a splendid meal with the most delectable farm to table salad with lime cilantro and avocado oil dressing, a squash linguini with fresh tomato sauce, with tasty vegetarian sausage to accompany, only to be outdone by her cherry cheesecake. You just have to let them know a day or two in advance if you want this opportunity.||We stayed in the Raj suite, a spectacular room with Jacuzzi tub, Steam Room, and King bed. We enjoyed the massage chair, open air hot tub, and took a dip in the cool waters of the river, in a shallow wading pool off the babbling brook. ||Kiana also served the most perfect breakfasts every morning, and we always started our day with more than adequate nourishment. If you are looking for the full spa experience, then this may not be your place. If you quest for simple peace and tranquility to do as you wish, relax, and a place from which to explore and partake in the wonders of creation, then this is it! Hope to be back!

Amazing home! Everything was in excellent condition! The river runs right through the backyard! We absolutely loved this place and we ate looking forward to going back. The home has everything needed and is clearly marked on each cabinet. Tons of games for kids inside and outside. If you are a musician there are instruments everywhere for you. I can't say enough about this home.

I stayed here last year for my boyfriend's birthday! It was an amazing weekend!|The lodge is beautiful and greatly located.|We spent the cold evening after visiting the park in the hot tub. It was such a different experience! |Breakfast was good too and overall I would recommend this place to anyone want to make their Sequoia Park visit unforgettable! ||A little overpriced, yes; however, around Sequoia all the hotels are pricey and not even worth it.

It's clean, run by pleasant staff and a couple, but not what we thought we would be getting for the price point (or based on listed amenities). They did a nice job of accommodating dietary restrictions for breakfast. However, it's a B&B with a few extras you might find in a family's house (pool table in one room, basketball hoop by the driveway), not a really a resort/spa sort of place. There is a nice backyard, with a jacuzzi and river view, good place to enjoy a hot breakfast (but during limited hours). Bikes were technically available but the heat, rough road conditions, and distance to any destinations made them less desirable. We arrived and were shown a "designer quality room" that had a mattress on what looked like a futon frame about six inches off the floor with minimal space around it before being upsold (for a premium price-- over $400/night) to a room that had a boxspring and bedframe well off the floor. Had this been refundable, I would likely have stopped at one of the other area lodges or inns to inquire about vacancies after seeing the room. I've stayed at a number of B&Bs close to key tourist areas that offered equally nice rooms and breakfasts for about half the price.

I’ll start with the positives. The rooms are very clean and the setting is lovely. However, the website and description are incredibly misleading. This is not a spa. It is not a resort. It is definitely not a yoga retreat. I don’t believe it is worth the price. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights as a base camp for seeing the Sequoia National Park. We had read prior reviews of an “idea day” starting with yoga/meditation, hiking, a chef prepared vegan dinner and evening massage. This does NOT exist. We arrived to find an empty house. There was no one there to greet us or check us in. After multiple phone calls to every number we could find and at least 45 minutes, we received a call back saying someone would meet us. The person that did finally meet us, 2 hours later, seemed “thrown in” with no knowledge whatsoever of the amenities. He used a key to open various rooms (which were all occupied) in an attempt to find ours. Finally he found an empty room and stated that this will be ours. He was unable to provide us with any other information. I happen to have found the wireless password in an office otherwise we would have been out of luck.||The next morning there was still no one around making breakfast so we took off to the parks. Again, no one around in the evening. ||To summarize a long post. This is a B&B. The beds are clean. The breakfast is served at 9 so don’t expect to eat and get an early start to the parks (which I would recommend to beat the crowds). Very misleading previous reviews and website. Very disappointed.

I visited this wonderful sanctuary with my boyfriend this past August. We stayed 4 nights. Four relaxing, serene, and starry nights. Our purpose for the stay was to visit Sequoia National Forest, but we were lucky to have found this gem that was an experience in itself. The house is gorgeous and IMPECCABLY clean. Our suite was hard to leave it was so comfortable and welcoming. The bathroom feels like a spa! Ilona and Bill really outdid themselves with the design and concept of this place. Driving up you would not expect to find such a modern atmosphere. The surrounding mountains create a spectacular backdrop. The flowing river happened to be right beyond our porch door. We stayed in the Raj suite...highly recommend it!! The shower alone is worth coming back for! Coming from Chicago we were looking for quiet...we beyond got what we asked for. Take advantage of the jacuzzi out back and listen to the river's sounds or hook up your phone and listen to the music from the built in speakers. The stars...As you can imagine we are deprived of those nights here in the city. I will never forget how many stars, shooting stars and constellations we saw. We even got lucky and saw some leftover meteors from the Perseid showers! That's how clear the night sky is. || The staff could not be friendlier or more attentive. We felt like family throughout our entire visit. We felt spoiled with our every need taken care of and truly some extra touches that you just don't get at a hotel or really anywhere I have stayed. Take the time to talk to and get to know the staff if possible. Each had really interesting talents and stories to share. Such unique individuals and some of the nicest people we have come across. If you'd rather keep to yourself and be left to your own, they of course are very respectful of that too. The chef Kyle, treated us to DELICIOUS meals. I'd like to share a story about each staff member we met but my review would be way too long! I'll finish by saying that this is the first review I have ever left on this platform or any other. After staying here, I had to start! Ilona helped me plan this memorable trip by answering my tons of questions, and making sure we had a pleasant stay. We can't thank her, Bill and the entire staff enough!!

We arrived to a locked house, despite having received a call from someone asking what time we were arriving. We waited for about an hour for a young woman with a key, who was surprised to see us, saying she didn't know they were expecting guests. ||||We were shown to a small room with no chairs and a bed like a futon, about 8 inches off the floor. Since we were going to stay three nights, we knew this would not be comfortable and asked for another room. After a phone call, we were advised that for an additional $60 a night we could have another room, which was right next to the first room. It was far more acceptable. ||||Kaweah Chakra is not a "resort", or a "spa", or a "yoga retreat" - depending upon what you read. It is a private home on a lovely portion of the river which rents out rooms. We were there with much family, 2 dogs (one of which barked for hours one late afternoon). The bed was good, as was our bathroom. The lady of the house (a charming woman) was in and out, and assisted with a nice breakfast each day - noting that the "chef" had a family emergency and was away. The man of the house was there several times, constantly asking for approval. He talked about retreats held there - and urged us to order a private dinner, which we did not. Various children were there from time to time - and may or may not have stayed there. Only one night was there another guest. ||||We did not feel comfortable using the living room in the evenings, feeling as if we would intrude on the family. ||||We slept well, but it was a weird situation. We would not stay there again.
