As a professional who works from home plus remote locations, I am happy Sierra Sustainable Builders totally shares my vision for a great residence at Lake Tahoe. In collaboration with the architects, Cory Hannaford, President, met with me, took the time to develop a plan within my budget, and shared his extensive experience and ideas. SSB completed my project in advance of schedule and well within budget. At 1600 sf, my home feels amazingly spacious for working in the office, relaxing, and entertaining family and friends. Strategically placed windows give extraordinary views and admit solar energy during the winter, while the eaves and ventilation protect the house from overheating during the summer. Sierra Sustainable consistently used high quality materials and techniques. Now I can focus on being productive while enjoying living in the beautiful California Sierra.

We had Sierra Sustainable Builders do a major room addition and remodel to our home in South Lake Tahoe. We can say without any reservation their work was of the highest quality and they take "green" building methods and procedures very seriously. They had to perform some demolition work before embarking on the room addition construction. They recycled the materials removed during the demolition as well as using '"green" materials during the project. You will not have to be concerned about residual unfriendly chemicals found in many paints and adhesives. They use only "green" materials as well as giving some options to employ recycled wood in the project. We selected some very nice recycled wood for the outdoor balcony found outside of our room addition. The fit and finish of their work was exceptional and they completed the project on time and on budget. The owners Cory and Danny were very helpful in making suggestions to improve the project as it proceeded and were a pleasure to work with and communicate. We highly recommend Sierra Sustainable Builders.

This review is long overdue. When I see the only other comment here, I can only conclude that the reviewer has not worked with Sierra Sustainable. Corey, Danny and their team accomplished a complicated project for our family, guiding an Old Tahoe home into the modern era. The dramatic hybrid design required significant know-how where the modern glass elements were concerned, and they showed genuine commitment to the preservation of the historical elements. They finished the job on time, despite working through the hardest winter Tahoe had seen in many years. Their attention to detail was impeccable, they showed respect for the property and our family history, and they have continued to care for the buildings after completion. I would not hesitate to refer them.
