I purchased a home from Gregory Dream Homes in February 2022. My home was advertised “beautifully remodeled from top to bottom”. It appeared that way from the outside, but there was a lot hidden behind the walls. The 1st night I heard something in the wall so I called APS to come out to set some traps. When they came back to evaluate they discover I had rats in the attic & in the crawlspace. I paid over $8k to have my crawl space cleaned out & encapsulated. It was full of trash, dead animal skeletons, beer & soda cans, fast food bag & trash from the remodel. They also pulled out 2 huge rat nests from the crawlspace & 1 from the attic. APS also discovered my floors were sinking & have me an $18k quote to repair it. Why was this NOT disclosed in my home inspection done in January 2022 by Don Bailey with Before-U-Buy Home Inspections! I immediately reached out to the owner of the company I purchased the home from, Matthew Gregory with Gregory Dream Homes. At first, he said that Alabama is a ‘buyer beware state” which in my eyes meant to bad for you but after I cried telling him about all the issues I was having with the house (many not mentioned here), he agreed to send his nephew to do the repairs (March 2022). The inspector, Don Bailey then did a 2nd inspection stating it was fixed. February 2024 I noticed one of my top kitchen cabinets falling from the wall & that my lower cabinet disconnecting from the granite. When I had a contractor come repair it, he said “do you know your kitchen is sinking?” HOW COULD THIS BE when this was repaired just 2 years ago! I have a large tree line in my back yard that I never bothered to look behind when I originally viewed the property but shortly after I moved in, I was out walked back there to discover a HUGE pile of trash that was the whole length of my property and several feet tall. I called the city and they said there was nothing they could do to help. Matthew at Gregory Dream Homes stated he would check with the guy who was over this project and get back with me, but he never did. I got several quotes to remove all this trash and the average was $13k. Brian Tree Service took 7 truck loads out of here. When I first moved in, I would always smell gas on my front porch, but it puzzled me because I don’t have any gas in my house. I would ask my guest if they could smell it and they always said no so I just blew it off. I smelled this about 5 or 6 times over a year and a half time & finally called the gas company to see if this house used to have gas. They came out and discovered there was a gas leak. I honestly lost it at this point. Why did they not discover this in the months of remodel. Since the very beginning of moving in I had a terrible smell in my bedroom that I couldn’t get out. I had it professionally cleaned several times but nothing helped. In 2024 the ceiling in the master bedroom fell in. Since i had to replace this, I figured I would replace the carpet. When I pulled the carpet up my floor was completely rotted. When the guy who replaced it was taking it up it crumbled. There was also a smooshed, dead what appeared to be a rat under there. The terrible smell was coming from this dead animal & rotted floors due to cat feces and urine. There were also several holes were in the floor that were never covered before laying carpet. What decent human thinks its ok to put carpet over this?! Again, I called Matthew to tell him what was going on but had to leave a voicemail. He didn’t return my call. I waited a few days & tried again. This time he answered. He was very kind & seemed concerned. He asked me to send him pictures so i did but never heard from him. After speaking to my neighbors, I was told this house should have been condemned due to the condition it was in before Gregory Dream Homes remodeled. They said there were cats trapped in this house for months until some company came to rescue them. A few months after moving in I started getting sick all the time. This is exactly why. Matthew shared his faith with me. I guess he forgot you reap what you sow.

Matthew Gregory and Gregory Dream Homes are the standard of excellence in the flipping, remodeling industry in the state of Alabama. I say this as a flipper myself and one who consistently consults with him and his company for advice on how to excel in this field. Matthew is a man of extremely high integrity and he cuts no corners for excellence. I’ve personally known him for over 15 years and it may actually be closer to 20 years. I highly recommend his homes for sale that have been remodeled, his air b&b’s for rent and anything he has involvement in.

My clients purchased a awesome house listed a few years ago that Matthew remodeled. Well about a month later there was an issue that needed correcting and I had no doubt it would be taken care of and Matthew was on top of it to the point of going back a few weeks later to check on them. The house is great and they have never been happier!!
The thing is problems exist with anything its how you handle them that really sets you apart from the rest. Thats Matthew Gregory!!
