Moving can be one of the most stressful experiences, but my recent move to South Side on Lamar was an absolute dream. I’ve moved nearly every year for the past 15 years, and I can honestly say this was the smoothest and most enjoyable process I’ve ever had.

From start to finish, Keenan went above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless. Whether it was answering my (many) questions, guiding me through the leasing process, or ensuring all the details were handled with care, Keenan made me feel like more than just another tenant—he truly cared about making sure I felt at home from day one.

The building itself is stunning, with so much character and charm, but what really sets South Side on Lamar apart is the exceptional service. It’s rare to find a place where the staff is this engaged and genuinely helpful. Moving here has been such a positive experience, and I’m already looking forward to making this my home for years to come.

The people who work here and live here make this a great environment, especially for artists. The reception area and lobby is neat, clean, filled with smiles, and considerate to guests. Carts are available for residents to use and drivers with deliveries have easy parking access.
The building is secure, and the rooftop has a stunning view of downtown and closes at 10 so no one is lingering around too late. Being across from the Police Headquarters makes this a very safe location to live. I noticed kids living in the area, and people of all ages. I love visiting Southside!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience living here! The complex is well-maintained, full of character, and has a great community feel. But what truly sets it apart is the outstanding service—especially from David. He consistently goes above and beyond to ensure residents are taken care of. Just moved to SSOL, but everything has been amazing so far!

David is phenomenal to work with. He answered all our questions in a timely manner and worked with us every step of the way for months. A true professional... and when he was out (day off) Keenan likewise assisted with exceptional expertise.

Concierge, the staff and the residents are all super inviting and helpful. Truly is a wonderful community. And the community events have been great to experience as well.

I can't stress enough how much of a nightmare living here has been. Negative 5 stars if possible. The leasing office is a complete disaster. They are utterly useless—it’s impossible to get anyone on the phone, no one’s ever in the office, and when they do respond, it’s always the same useless advice: “Contact another management team.” I’ve spent months trying to get issues resolved, only to be passed around with no solutions.

We’ve been living in one of the first floors, and of course, the leasing office didn’t bother to tell us that our neighbor was running a music recording studio right next door. We spent an entire year filing noise complaints because the music was blasting at all night hours and day—we couldn’t sleep, and it was even worse with a newborn in the house. It took the leasing office 9 months to do anything about it, and even then, they did the absolute bare minimum. Complete lack of consideration for tenants. The hallways reek of smoke and cannabis and management does nothing about it.

And don’t even get me started on the renewal process. The first year, they would send multiple reminders via email and phone calls, notice in door, about renewing the lease, but this year? Nothing. We had no idea we were supposed to inform them by a specific date. Now they’re charging us four months of rent to pay in a single month—totally unconscionable. We’ve been nothing but perfect tenants, and now they’re trying to hit us with exorbitant fees to get out.

The management here doesn’t care about you, your time, or your well-being. This place has been a constant headache, from unresponsive staff to the constant noise, broken elevators, and stolen packages. Save yourself the stress and avoid this place at all costs. The leasing office and management will make your life a living hell.

Honest review. So everyone was super nice in the leasing office and the front. I toured a couple lofts decided on one go through the process had to pay $526 to apply. $225 was an admin fee $100 app fee and $200 deposit. I make about 3.5x the rent. Never had an eviction defaulted on rent or car note anything like that. I get a call back saying i would have to pay 2x the rent for a security deposit in order to move in. The normal is $750 which is fine i would have even paid a month security deposit. But 2x is crazy. Then they gave me another option through guarantor where you can pay a non refundable deposit to move in. Yall i checked it out just to see how much it would cost. $2200 NON REFUNDABLE. Absolutely not make it make sense. Besides that loved the lofts, loved the atmosphere and the leasing agents.

Keenan and David from the leasing office are amazing! We needed a couple of things printed in the office and they made it happen with ease!

Not only that but the floor plans and amenities including the coffee shop in the building is a huge plus! We love it here!
