Visited a friend who was staying here in their camper for a few hours. It was a really nice spot, we went out on the lake and rented a boat, brought an umbrella since you are in direct sunlight, and spent some time having dinner at their campsite. A fun place to hang out with family or friends, beautiful and peaceful. We had drinks at night at the campsite, and they had restrooms for you to use on-site as well, the only thing that is a bummer is that you aren't allowed in the water since it is a reservoir.

Best camping in San Diego. Without the drive. Lake Jennings is a beautiful reservoir in east San Diego. Great shoreline and fish 🐟 👌🏻 well stalked. Located in Lakeside CA. My home town.. total family spot. And some of the best camping spots I've ever seen and camped at. NO SWIMMING THOUGH 😕. BUT WORTH IT. FREE SHOWERS 🚿. CLEAN . BEAUTIFUL SUN RISES. THERE ARE LAKE SITES AND CITY VIEW SITES. LUXURY SITES. ½ AND PARTIAL HOOK UP. A MUST !

Lake Jennings has always been a home away from home. Such a beautiful location with even more incredible views. I can't tell you enough how amaizng this place really is. You also get the Bald eagles that come down to visit here. It's a beautiful place for a picnic or fishing with the family. The staff are truly amazing and very helpful. I love this place! I really want to come back and rent a camping space next time, but the kids had fun my husband got to fish, and I got to do a bit of hiking. There where some people in small boats but not too many, so I'm not sure about the rules on the watercrafts, but it was super relaxing. You should check it out!

Bring $3 and get ready to drive, hike, or fish. You have to go to the rangers checkpoint prior to venturing out. They give out bracelets, I thought i was at a rave…

Campsite is clean and well maintained. Lake is used as driking source so no body contact is aloud. It can get a bit warm here in the summer so come prepared if camping. All RV/camper sites that are full hookup are pull through sites, but they aren't completely leveled so bring leveling blocks. They offer 30amp & 50amp service for RV/camper sites. All in all it's a fairly decent campground with friendly staff and a huge covered playground for the kids.
