Lakeside Linkage County Preserve is the name despite one sign on the property calling it Lakeside Linkage Preserve and another calling it Lakeside Preserve… One trail runs through the preserve, and it is, unsurprisingly, called Lakeside Linkage Trail. The trail is primarily a dirt path wide enough to accommodate hikers and cyclists. The trail is a one-way up and down climb of 1.3 miles. About a quarter mile from the trailhead is a leveled-off area that appears to be used by mountain bikers to ride around in circles and over dirt ramps, etc. The trail has no trees and no shade. Trail markers and other signage are poor. The preserve is littered with trash and dog droppings and, in my opinion, the dirtiest of the County’s parks and preserves that I’ve visited. The trash container at the trailhead was also overflowing. Park on Los Coches Road because the preserve does not have a parking lot. The trailhead area has a kiosk but no other services like water or restrooms. If you are coming to Lakeside to hike, I’d recommend Louis A. Stelzer County Park ($3) or Oakoasis County Preserve (free) as better options.

Nice little trail that zig zags and ends at the Whitaker House. You can avoid the hill climb by taking a connecting trail at the end of Currant Ct.
