If something goes wrong, it will take a really long time to get fixed. Right now there is an active bee hive in the apartment building, there is a hole in my bathroom that leads to the public areas of the building, there is a massive hole in the hallway, and the railing fell off the stairs in the building (safety issue) and the flooring in my apartment is falling apart. All of these issues have been brought to their attention and they haven’t fixed any of these issues. I pay 3k a month and live in a substandard apartment. The maintenance team is not sympathetic towards our issues and they are not respectful.

If communication, response time, maintenance and quality of life are important to you, I recommend living with a different land lord. I WILL NOT LIVE IN A BUILDING MANAGED BY THEM AGAIN.

Just a word of advice, they will be super nice during move in. That doesn’t last. I pay 3k a month and my building and apartment are falling apart.

UPDATE: they fixed the hole in my bathroom after I left this review. They have not fixed the broken staircase or remedied the bee hive in the building.

Second update: it has been over 30 days and the stairs in my apartment are broken. They lied throughout the process and have been horrific to deal with.

I had a wonderful experience living in one of Ratner Property Management's buildings. I moved in with my husband, who had already been a resident for a year. We enjoyed another year and a half there until our family outgrew the space. The staff and management were always friendly and accommodating, and the maintenance team was consistently responsive and helpful. I highly recommend renting with Ratner Property Management!

5 stars for Irene Howell!

Had a few issues during our move out as our usual point of contact was on maternity leave and the new point of contact we were given wasn’t responding. Ratner was also in the process of switching management of our building and so it was difficult coordinating our move out with them.
I reached out to Irene, despite her not being in charge of our building. And she was so responsive and helpful. She escalated our questions and got us the answers we needed so that we could have a swift and easy move out. She was truly very helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Irene Howell from Ratner Property Management, and I can't say enough about how helpful and professional she was throughout the entire process. From the first interaction, Irene was incredibly responsive, thorough, and went out of her way to ensure all my questions were answered. Her knowledge and dedication made finding the right home for me, that much easier.

The communication was always clear, and she took the time to explain things in a way that made me feel comfortable and confident in the eliminating process. It's rare to find someone so committed to excellent service, and I am grateful for her assistance.

They lie, don’t follow through on agreements they make with tenants, and don’t maintain their units. Their maintenance team is an absolute joke (on the rare occasion they actually respond to tickets and send someone out). Nothing we’ve ever requested to be fixed has actually been fixed. Don’t get scammed by these people, stay away. Can’t wait for my lease to end so I can run from this company as fast as humanly possible.

I am approaching the end of my first year renting from Ratner and I truly couldn't be more pleased. I had a nightmarishly stupid landlord when I first moved to LA, so this switch to Ratner has been a joy! Anytime there has been a problem, big or small, it is handled extremely quickly and the staff constantly communicates updates. Nothing has ever taken longer than it should to be fixed. This week I discovered there was a slight miscommunication between me and the property manager when I adopted a dog many months ago, but we quickly figured out where the wires got crossed and found a solution we were both happy with. Can't asked for anything more than that! The two repair/handymen that they have are also super nice and always great to be around.
