My girlfriend and I were keenly interested in renting a unit managed by this company. Beatriz, the Asset Manager, dealt with us back and forth for nearly a month as getting back to us in a timely manner or answering our questions was all handled haphazardly. Once it was time to move forward with the application, we were extremely thorough to show our combined income for the last three months. The income requirement for the apartment was $3500 and the least we made in the months provided was $3,933 while the highest was $7,055. $7055 is five times the monthly cost of the apartment. The most we had to be able to show is $3,500.

We were then asked to provide our bank statements as further proof of income, which we did, taking the time to highlight every transaction that was a payout from an easily verifiable employer.

We were denied, saying that our combined provable income was $2,276 a month. Their reasoning was that payments from Venmo and sources like that do not count as paystubs. Of course, this being 2022 and Los Angeles, so many of us are independent contractors, are small business owners, gig workers, etc.--none of these situations always have traditional paystubs. All of our income is easily verifiable and we even included letters from employers, the ability to contact them, and so on.

Regardless, we were denied saying that this income is not verifiable, which is an outright lie.

I called in to check exactly what the exact issue was, since we easily make more than the requirements and it is all verifiable. It was then reiterated to me, this time by Jaime Velasquez (the Assistant Assets Manager), that we did not meet the income requirements and were denied.

Something is clearly wrong here.

According to the Fair Housing Act:

"Housing providers must treat all income equally, as long as the source is legal, regular, and verifiable."

I am in the midst of making a formal complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Real Estate, and the local Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles.

This is the WORST company I have ever had to deal with and does illegally activity. They entered my apartment without my knowledge and consent. The lied to on site manager and told her I had. When confronted and I told them to leave my apartment where Beatriz Martinez proceeded to scream and yell at me and hang up on me saying they’d evict me for being “difficult” - as if that’s legal..

These are also the people who left notices on our door while being a tenant telling us we could no longer flush toilet paper cause they refused to fix the old plumping.. save yourself the headache and steer clear of any properties these people manage.

NEVER rent from them EVER!!!!!!! If I could give them ZERO stars I would. This is by far my worst apartment experience. I moved into this ghetto apartment and when I first moved in I had roaches. After that issue was fixed my neighbors are so loud walking ob these thin floors and paper thin walls above me and outside that even with ear plugs I cant sleep at night. Ive complained several times and NOTHING has been done. They will not let me out of this hellish lease or even move me across the hall. I will never rent from them again and that is a promise. I reccomend you find somewhere else to live. DO NOT use them you will regret it.

Beatriz Martinez is by far the worst human being in the world!!! She is horribly unprofessional, very rude and has the nastiest attitude ever. Do not ever rent any property from this company! I've spoken to the maintenance crew and other tenants and they all hate the company especially Beatriz! What is worse, the company will do nothing about it! She just gets to treat people however she sees fit like we are gum off her shoe!

My Daughter and I tried to apply for one of their available units. We filled out our applications and at first were told we made too little, but once they learned how to do math they told us we actually did make enough. They told us they not only needed our paystubs but also our bank statements. When I asked why they needled both they told me our paystubs had been fabricated. This is such a lie!! Both my daughter and I put our companies names, addresses, and phone numbers on our applications. They told me that so many people were applying and were not really working as an excuse to tell me that all of my paystubs and my daughter's paystubs were fake. They should learn how to treat people with more respect and not accuse people of doing things wrong just because everyone else is. This company is terrible, and the people there don't understand customer service at all!!!! The assistant manager, Beatriz is extremely rude!! After I questioned her accusations against myself and my daughter she told me that we were not a right fit and she would be closing our applications. I am no longer surprised about the way we were treated because this company and Beatriz specifically have so many bad reviews.

Worst Worst Apartment Management Ever !!! I have never lived in a place like that! People at the office change or quit pretty fast!

The maintenance department is beyond any criticism!!! It would take them 9 MONTHS to respond to a complain. In my case my heater was not working since day 1. I sent multiple emails and phone calls for them to send me guys and tell me that my heater is not working!
The building manager has some tighs with the office. They have 7 cars. She parks whenever at wherever she likes,but if you park on not an assigned place for you she would toll yN8WR-SJD5our car without even trying to call you. ( it cost me $400) when they line up their cars when street cleaning you don't get a choice but parking 2 blocks away.
She talks in Spanish about me, in front of me and pointing at me! What a professionalism! Her boyfriend called me puta, when I was just Passing by
LOUNDRY ROOM NEVER WORKS AS WELL!

The building is full with cockroaches. Even if you spray and kill all of them, they would keep coming from the neighboirs.

YOU DO NOT NEED THAT KIND OF MESS IN YOUR LIFE!

I am a tenant in the apartments of 6935 hinds in North Hollywood and I am angry and frustrated because my kids can't even play outside because the "so call" manager by the name (Marcela) is a creep she comes at random days and different hours and takes pictures of the kids and videos of them while the kids play outside. She scares the kids she's rude the kids feel harrassed by her . She don't clean and maintain the apartments clean and when we complain to her about any maintenance problems she says there's nothing she can do. She's always gossiping with two tenants from this apartment always talking bad about the people who lives here. She does nothing for these apartments she don't clean or check if anything needs to follow up . All she is good is to be a WEIRDO And aCREEP taking Pictures and VIDEOS of Kids. We will complain to the office because it's not fair that we pay rent month by month and we have to deal with this type of lady

I just called them since my husband got off work, needs to shower since he works a gruelling physical and outdoors job, and the hot water is off. We were never notified our hot water would be turned off.

I pressed the after-hours number and it rang twice, and someone purposefully hung on me. I've lived here for 5 years and not once has their service improved. I will be reporting them.

2) Call code enforcement.
If your utilities still aren’t fixed after you ask your landlord to fix them, report them to Code Enforcement

3) Call the police.
If the Code Enforcement office or Health District Offices are closed or they won’t help you, call the police. The police will check your home’s temperature and any other utilities that aren’t working. The police may call your landlord and tell him or her to fix the problem. If they don’t call or if your landlord won't fix the problem, tell the police you want your landlord arrested for violating § 34. Heating.
