I’ve lived at Isles of Charm for 27 years, and there’s a reason I’ve stayed here for so long: it’s the PERFECT place to live!

The best part of living at Isles? Our apartment manager Adam. He’s a friendly manager who truly cares about us. If there are any problems, he takes care of it immediately. He keeps the building extremely clean, he had brand-new laundry machines installed for us, and the cleaning crew and gardeners keep the place looking great. Isles has gone through many managers over the years, but Adam shines above them all. Adam has improved this apartment building 1000%.

It’s a rent-controlled building (w/ a big back area for bbq and relaxing), it’s across the street from a beautiful reservoir, Trader Joe’s and Gelsons is within walking distance, tons of restaurants are just a short walk over the bridge, DTLA is only 5 miles straight down the street, Echo Park Lake is 3 miles away, and Griffith Park is just around the corner! Quiet, friendly neighbors, too. I love it here, and you will, too!

I’ve lived in my apartment for over 10 years and it truly feels like home. The water fountain in the courtyard can be heard when you open the window. The tree in the middle of the courtyard is gorgeous. Totally recommend living here. 🙂

This review is specifically about the manager. As renters, I think we all know that it’s important to get that right apartment. But often, it’s just as important to have a solid manager. And if you are lucky enough to have Adam Crowell while you are renting, he’s just that. Whether it be a regular maintenance request, an apartment emergency or perhaps even an issue with a neighbor, he’s on top of it. He’s friendly, fast to respond with a solution, has it taken care of quickly and always follows up to make sure you are happy. He does everything he can to ensure an optimal living experience.

I spent the last three years living here and it certainly lives up to the name, isle of charms. I love the classic aesthetic of the apartment with wood floors and the cute detailing. The courtyard space was such a great little sanctuary to have lunches and work in the shade of the trees. The location is perfect with Trader Joe’s and Gelsons a few minutes walk down the street along with a bunch of great cafes, bars, cinema and Griffith park.

When I first moved in there was a bit of shuffling around of management, the toll of the pandemic I’d guess, and that caused some headaches but since the new management came in everything has been running like a well-oiled machine. If ever any maintenance is needed it’s easily sorted same day. Adam the property manager has been a huge help whenever I’ve had any queries and during the moving process. What a difference good management makes!

This place is such a gem! If you manage to catch a free apartment, snatch it up quick!

So I lived here for the last 3-4 years and the only reason I moved is because I needed a 2 BR and there was not one available. Eddie of finance is remarkable and I met Christina during my last couple of months and found her to be a really great manger (administrator?). Though she was new at the property, she jumped in and was very visible and taking care of the property. I am surprised that she stayed (others had not) and is still there today (I called her with a question that she immediately took care of). So Overall I enjoyed my time at Isles of Charm-nice neighbors and peaceful. Just sorry that there wasn't a larger unit for me! Oh, the 4 stars is for the overall time--- Christina gets 5 STARS!
