I’m complete pissed off. This apartment is does not have a working system to accommodate bottom line needs. I’m freaking sitting in the lobby at 10pm, locked outside because the door lock battery is dead. Called the office and what they could do is to submit a work order that who knows when is gonna be received because they have no human being on site. I can only call their only phone number and hopelessly hearing the phone ring at empty front desk. I’ve waited 40 minutes now and god knows how long I need to wait for a lock out that’s not my freaking fault.

Update: locked out again after the maintenance came and changed the battery.

UPDATE: LOCKED OUT ON THANKSGIVING DAY AGAIN

I parked my car in the guest parking lot temporarily to quickly grab my wallet from my apartment. I was gone for no more than 10 minutes. Since my parking spot is deep in the garage, I thought it would be okay to use the guest parking just this once. When I returned, I found that a heavy object, resembling a dumbbell, had smashed into my car’s roof, causing $5,000 in damages. And I couldn't drive my car for almost two months. I can’t imagine the kind of reckless person who would throw something so heavy from a height; if it had hit a person instead of my car, it could have caused serious injuries or even death.

I reported this incident to the staff at The Met, but they offered no response, didn’t investigate, and didn’t even put up any notices to warn residents about the danger. This time it was my car, but what if it happens to someone next? The consequences could be fatal.

Additionally, I’ve had ongoing issues with the leasing office regarding my lease renewal. While they are always friendly when I contact them, they never actually resolve any of my issues. They consistently fail to respond to my emails and calls, which has led to prolonged delays in addressing my concerns. As of now, nothing has been resolved.

The lack of safety and responsiveness from management is alarming, and I no longer feel safe parking or even walking around the apartment complex. I would not recommend The Met to anyone considering living here.

I lived there for two years, nice area, good supermarkets, good restaurants, close to metro, cinema and shopping. There is a park behind. Nice view. I had great times there. By the way Rolando is the best 🫶🏻💗💎

I’ve been a resident here for 4 years, and it’s sad to see how much the building has deteriorated under the current management. The place feels completely out of control now. Nobody follows the rules anymore, and there’s a serious lack of enforcement.
Everywhere you go, there’s the smell of people smoking pot — it’s in the hallways, the parking lot, even near the entrances. It’s not just uncomfortable but also unsafe. I’ve seen individuals in the ELEVATOR wearing ankle monitors, which is very concerning. This used to be a secure, family-friendly place, but it feels far from it now.
On top of that, noise has become a huge issue. People are partying at the jacuzzi until 1 AM, completely disregarding quiet hours. This isn’t the relaxing, peaceful environment it used to be. We don’t feel safe or respected as residents anymore.
We need George Roberts back! When he was in charge, there was order and structure. He made sure everyone respected the rules, and the building felt like a community. It’s really sad to see how things have declined without him. Current management needs to step up or bring back someone who can restore the sense of security and order we once had.
I also want to point out how much we appreciate Roland at the front desk. He’s one of the few bright spots in the building right now. Even though they cut his hours to save costs, he remains incredibly kind and helpful. It’s a shame to see him get fewer hours when he’s one of the few who actually cares about the residents.

I’m absolutely loving my time at the Met. I’m living here with my fiancé right now and we get this special sense of charm, coziness, comfort, and sense of homeliness. Rolando the front desk concierge, is an absolute gem of a human being. Kingsley brings his incredibly welcoming demeanor, quick wit, combined with his incredible competency as the buildings manager. The maintenance team are always on prompt with fixing home related issues here - this property and team is downtown LA’s best kept property management secret. Keep up the fantastic work!!

i wish i could make it like 3.75 stars, because the Met is great, awesome location, lovely view from any side on any floor, the leasing agents are super cool and i absolutely adored seeing Rolando and his smiling face every morning.
BUTTT, as a girl living alone in downtown, I honestly never felt safe in this building sadly. So that's why i say 3.75, bc some of the issues aren't rlly the building staff's fault. On my birthday a homeless man was outside my door with a knife, the security guard at the desk harassed me repeatedly, following me around at 2am (he wasn't there very long), other tenants are just creepy & would stand outside my car at night waiting for me to come out..:just strange. I have lived in other apts in downtown & maybe it's the proximity to crypto, la live/ skid row but living here freaked me out.
When i moved in in January there was 24hr security but it was soon replaced by security guards who say "we can't do anything abt that you have to wait till morning" like um alright. If you are a student at FIDM this is a great place to live it's legit a 1 minute walk to school, but just be wary if you are a girl living alone.
I once had to pay $412 because my car was towed
from a guest parking space bc they couldn't see the ticket slip even though it was right there the whole time. Nothing I could but just pay it.
But yeah overall 8ish/10 experience just a lot of stuff got to a point that's like idk if that's normal.
again thank you to Rolando, Rebecca Kingsley and Nadine such cool friendly people. Thank you all🌸

I’ve lived in 2 units at the Met now and have had a great experience! The staff is super friendly & helpful. Rolando is the best concierge I’ve ever had and Kingsley & Rebecca are really great in the office as well. Maintenance responds quickly and the building is super convenient to necessities in DTLA. highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my 2-3 year stay at the Met dtla. It's so hard to find good concierge in this area. They really are what made the rent worthwhile. Big thanks to Rolando, who greeted me with a smile every morning and was always on top performance with security in the building. I swear he is like the mayor of the met. Keisha was also such a light in my life, she was ALWAYS helping me navigate my chaotic home life. Being a single person living alone is so difficult and these people really looked out for me. I didn't get to know Candy for long but she is also a sweetheart. The met is really just a corporate business, but the community there is really why I stayed. The common areas are like a small oasis. I could even give my cat a little walk out in the trees every now and then in peace. Give these people a fat raise, they go above and beyond!
