Davin Management Group and their managers at Auburn Hills Apartments in Auburn, CA did not inform my wife and I that someone had died right before we moved into the apartment. Nothing verbal nor in writing. We found out from our neighbor recently and confirmed with Placer County Recorder.

In addition, the lack of maintenance there is very bad, and they allow residents' dogs to poop and pee everywhere with no enforcement. I gathered 8 pounds of dog feces for one area alone. We have black mold in the shower, shower, wall panels, and toilet are sinking from previous water damage, and the apartment smells like mold and unmentionable things. They never replaced the air filter - I did and was filthy. Until we asked for intervention, the neighbors smoked directly in front of our door day and night. We had to buy an expensive HEPA air cleaner due to apartment smelling like smoke after coming home every day. The railings and landings are falling apart. They also told us they would charge us for damage that was already in the apartment because the 80 year old former manager never did a walk through. When I asked if they would fix things or credit rent if I fixed things or if they would move us due to death in apartment, they gave us a 30 day eviction notice the next day on our door.

These are a family of people who manage 'boutique' properties and who are sick human beings and manage for sick human beings who treat others with disrespect and provide below substandard housing. We may have to get a lawyer because we're afraid they are taking our deposit, which is over $3K.

We advise to stay away from Auburn Hills Apartments and especially anything that Davin Management Group handles. They will screw over anyone they can.
